The glass component of the picture is made with hand cut stencils or prepared screens over which or through which powdered glass can be applied. This may involve 2 or 3 firings to fuse the powdered glass onto a clear background in layers.
The backgrounds of the pictures are created from layered and painted mixed fabrics to create texture, or hand dyed, felted welsh sheeps wool.
I created the screen for the canal boat from a lino-cut print my son designed.
